I’ve known Coach Ronnie for many years as a local powerlifter where we attended the same gym. As a competitive powerlifter who is extremely passionate about the sport of Powerlifting, I often enjoy discussing theory and philosophical aspects about topics such as programming, biomechanics, different coaching cues, etc. Ronnie started as my friend who I found had much knowledge about the sport of powerlifting. As a coach myself, I often don’t easily trust, but Ronnie’s knowledge of the sport really eased my mind so much that I hired him as my own coach.

As an athlete, I have learned small details to become a better powerlifter overall, but as a coach myself, having Ronnie as my coach was invaluable. Since working with Ronnie, I have grown leaps and bounds as a coach and Ronnie is so helpful when I too have questions with one of my own athletes, and he’s always so gracious to help me. As a coach, you not only need to be knowledgeable about the sport, but it’s critical that one has soft skills, can relate to people, in addition to genuinely care and personally invest in them. It’s how I treat my own clients, and of any coach I’ve ever personally met, Ronnie demonstrates the same characteristics. As both my friend and coach, I trust Ronnie so much that when I cannot take a client because I don’t have any spots available, or when I just don’t feel I’m the right coach for a person, Ronnie is ALWAYS the

first and only person I feel comfortable referring them to because I know he’ll invest and truly care to make the athlete not only a better one, but a better overall person.
